my new life

Forgive my spelling.
Friday as you know I had Bella, the midwife informed us she likely has down syndrome. Due to the roof of her mouth being high we are having trouble feeding her. Monday we went to see a Dr and were sent to the hospital to have a newborn work up done and her jaundice level checked. The Dr called us that night and told us her blood had been to thick to get a result on the jaundice. We waited until Tuesday morning and went back to the hospital to retest and the level was 23, normal is around 10, and 25 is dangerous. We had her admitted and put under lights to help break down the billyrubin that causes jaundice. That was NOT easy. Thankfully, her level went down nicely and we got out of the hospital at 10 pm on Wednesday night. (Home for Christmas) We have been working with her to eat every two hours, doing finger feeding, taping a tube on a finger and a syringe on a shoulder. That means I get to try to get her to breastfeed, pump and then feed her with the tube. Tomorrow we get to go back to the hospital for another jaundice test. That will tell us if we need to get a blanket to put on her, it will help break down the billyrubin. I am not looking forward to tomorrow.
Please keep us in your prayers, that the test goes well and that we handle everything good.
She is a wonderful baby, hardly fussing and beautiful, we are sooooo thankful for her already.
