Third times a charm

Bella and Liss are excited to announce that we are expecting number three! This picture is from 10 weeks, I'm thirteen now. This is an unexpected surprise and I'm staying to get over the shock. We found out the day after my birthday.

Sleep

After telling Hubby's grandmother that we let the kids climb into our bed at night, she told me that she was afraid the girls are going to run all over me. I know I have a problem with consistency in dealing with my children but when you are asked the same question 50 times a day, it wears you down. But I don't feel letting my kids in my bed will lead to them running the house. The girls slept in our bed for the first nine months or so, or in a co -sleeper and the oldest was in our bedroom until she was two. We only had one bedroom. :) Now at just 6 and nearly 4 I am just starting to work on getting them to go to sleep in their own beds. Up until now they would lay in our bed and fall asleep. And as annoying as it could be because I would want to do something by myself or with Hubby before it was my bedtime, I do not regret it in the least. And yes, they will let themselves into our bed at any hour of night or morning and I'm perfectly okay with that. One of the joys is waking up with a beautiful little girl on either side of me. And yes, it's gotten to the point where they will climb in without waking me. But someday I will embarrass them, they will want to be alone, they will think they know it all or some other teenager trait and I will miss the early morning snuggles and tickle fights but I will never ever regret it.

thoughts on my journey through infertility

Hubby and I are like minded in a lot of things and one is not taking drugs. We agreed when we got married that I would not take birth control. We used condoms and I took my temps (bbt) to avoid trying to get pregnant the first 6 months we were married. Then we were introduced to infertility. After one year of trying we went to see a docter, I had hysterosalpingogram and Hubby had a sperm test done. Everything came back normal and we decided to go see an iredolgist who had me taking a bunch of herb pills. 9 months later,(for a total of 2 years and three months) I was pregnant. We were ecstatic. Nine months later we met our oldest,  Arabella. And we found out I have a balanced robertsonian translocation 14-21. This was 6 years ago and I am still learning all this implies. We were able to get pregnant rather quickly with our second child and that pregnancy took a lot out of me. 4 years later and I still feel like I'm recovering, could be from lack of sleep the last 6 years too. It's been three years that we've been trying for number three and nether of us want to go to a doctor to get drugs. I have had some hormones tested and know that I am hypothyroid and my estrogen and progesterone are unbalanced. I had a strong feeling of the thyroid and progesterone due to low temps and short luteal phases. I also struggle with my adrenal bring fatigued. So, for now I am tying to eat healthy, reduce my stress (not getting to far on that), raise my progesterone and lower estrogen. To raise progesterone I am drinking three to four cups of red raspberry leaf tea which I find yummy with just a little bit of hunny. For lowering the estrogen, I am taking chinese bitters and coptis for three weeks. Nasty stuff. And then Hubby and I are going to do a liver cleanse. After that, I'm going to start taking some thyroid support, either from natures sunshine or dessicated thyroid or  thyroid cytrotrophin.

Eggnog

Seems like the blogs I was watching have all faded. I'm going to guess it has something to do with Facebook.
Over the past four years I've been struggling to get some energy. Life had been crazy and stressful, we've moved to a new house that needs remodeling, we're working on getting our foster license to adopt, and I beat myself up for not being the mommy I thought I would be.
This month is absolutely crazy, Hubby, Bella and my mom have birthdays, then Christmas and getting Bella a new pair of glasses.  I'm trying a liver cleanse, tying to get health and Bella has therapy once a week, the girls have started going to awanas once a week and I've been sleeping like crap to top it off.
Hubby mentioned feeling rushed at work all the time and how mistakes get made when you rush. So during this crazy season, take some time to slow down and share a cup of eggnog with someone.

A fun but short weekend

I decided to check out my blog that has been neglected for a couple years and found these pictures i never posted. A friend of mine came down for a visit and I had a blast.

Something different

If you have noticed something different about me, it's probably the scarf I have on my head. I thought I would share some of the websites I looked at to help me make my decision to wear it.
